There are recycling containers available year-round to drop off your recyclables. You can dispose of telephone books, junk mail, office paper, and boxes. These bins are for residential homeowners and not businesses.

Mattresses, furniture, and white goods can be picked up at the curb. If you have computers that you would like to recycle please take them to the City’s Service Center, which is next to the Transfer Station. If you have worn American Flag the VFW of Strongsville will retire the flag for you. Please take your plastic bags to either the Giant Eagle or Marc’s.

Habitat For Humanity Collection

Every year the city holds a collection of rehab and construction materials for the ReStore of the local Habitat for Humanity chapter. Its held at the Transfer Station and will gladly accept sinks, kitchen counters, furniture and washers, and dryers. Also, they will accept vanities, freezers, air conditioners, and countertops. Ensure that all of these items are in good condition and be repurposed.

Household Hazardous Waste

Household hazardous waste can be dropped off once a year at the Transfer Station. The station will accept the following wastes but not limited to solvent based paint, varnish, caustic household cleaners, roof tar. Some other items include motor oil, sealers, shellac, and kerosene.
