The Train Line to Havana

For many of us in Florida, the network of railroads that slowly emerged over time generated much of its development. Havana, located in Gadsden County north of Tallahassee in Gadsden, is such a town. The interior of Florida grew at the beginning of the 20th century as rail lines enabled settlers to move past Salem and incorporate Havana in 1906. The town was named Havana after its rich tobacco crop. Today, we know Havana for historic beauty and antique shops and art galleries.

Rising Concerns over the Environment

Sine the railroad brought many families to Havana, the population has continued to increase in the town of Havana, Gadsden County, and much of Florida. As populations have continued to rise over the years, particularly in the past two decades, concerns have emerged regarding the possible negative impacts that increasing development and human activities can have on the environment. One particular concern is the problem of public health. As more and more residents and tourists visit Havana and other parts of Florida, what is the impact on the food production, drinking water, sewage contamination, and the swimming areas in Havana and Gadsden Counties?

Gadsden County’s Environmental Health Program

To address regarding health and the environment, the Florida Department of Health in Gadsden County oversees the Environmental Health Program. The Environmental Health Program oversees three key areas:

  • Facility and Food Programs: The Environmental Health Program oversees health issues for facilities that provide food, operate labor camps for migrants, and provide group care. The program also regulates facilities that generate biomedical waste and certification for health workers and environmental professionals. Additionally, the Program oversees health issues for mobile home and recreational home parks and businesses that transport and store goods and even tanning facilities.
  • Water Programs: The Environmental Health Program regulates drinking water in the County and elsewhere in Florida. But it also sets policies for a number of other areas, such as swimming pools (and any public bathing facility) beach water quality, and other responsibilities under the State Underground Petroleum Environmental Response Act (SUPER Act).
  • Sewage Programs:  The other side of water usage is the sewage system that it often ends up in. The Environmental Health Program seeks to ensure that sewage treatment systems and sewage disposal systems in Gadsden County and the rest of the state adhere to safety standards. The Program also trains and establishes standards for the staff of the Gadsden County Health Department.

Great uses for a 40-Cubic Yard Dumpster

Some companies only have a 40-yard dumpster as their largest container. But Easy Dumpster Rental wants to give its customers anything that they need. So we offer our massive 40-cubic yard dumpster, which can handle four dump truck loads and stand at twenty feet long, eight feet wide, and eight feet in height. It may seem like this container is just for contractors in Havana, but if you are building a large house or renovation a couple thousand feet or more of your home, it is a great dumpster container for residential use.

Roofers also affirm that usefulness of the 40-yard dumpster as they drop shingles from above down into its abyss, and other contractors find that it can hold an amazing amount of volume and weight. One of the advantages of a 40-yard dumpster bin is that it can hold five tons of weight, which can be a great asset when filling it with heavy materials like shingles, tiles, asphalt, or brick. Other items like old carpet and flooring and drywall or furniture that take up space in smaller dumpsters can fit easily the 40-yard unit. It is also a favorite of contractors building large residential or commercial units or engaged in demolitions.

It’s that easy!
