Curbside recycling is available from Muncie Sanitary District for residents. Recyclables should be placed in blue bags that can be easily acquired free of cost at libraries, supermarkets, drug stores, and the Muncie Mall. The Muncie Sanitary District initiated a program with the corporation of East Central Recycling to provide residents with the correct means of getting rid of HHW. East Central Recycling is located at the:

• 701 East Centennial Avenue, Muncie, IN 47303 – call 765-282-1900.
• Monday to Friday: 8 am to 5 pm & Saturday: 8:00am – 12:00pm.
• Accepted Items are Computer monitors, Used Motor Oil, Empty toner cartridges, and Batteries.
• Items not accepted include Radioactive waste, Ammunition, Explosives, and Medical waste.

Yard Waste

Tree clippings, bushes, and limbs should be placed in bundles of no more than 5 feet and should not exceed 40 pounds if they are to be collected by The Sanitation Department. Yard waste should be placed along the curb away from mailboxes, power lines, or any object that may delay pickup. Grass clippings can be taken to East Central Recycling on weekdays between 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
