Recycling, Refuse, and Towering Facts About Bay Village, OH
With its 16,000 residents coupled being on Lake Erie, Bay Village is one of the most beautiful suburbs in the Cleveland metro area. The city was settled in 1810. Autumn Leaf Pickup
During the fall months, every week or so, the city sends out vacuum leaf trucks to gather leaves from the streets. Come December the trucks will not be picking up leaves but you can place loose leaves in your blue garbage can. Ensure that your leaves are placed on the tree lawn and not directly in the street and do not cover fire hydrants.
Brush and Tree limbs Pickup
These materials are picked up year-round by the city. Make sure that you that you bundle this debris and it is no longer than four feet in length. The Village will accept logs and stumps but they are too heavy to lift they will be left behind. Once all of this debris is picked up it is taken to a local compost facility where it is shredded and sold back to the public as mulch.
Curbside recycling services are offered weekly.

Bulk Pick Up
Once a month the city provides bulk pick up days. The city will collect the following items but not limited to household furniture, tables, swing sets, freezers, and washers. If you go to the Bay Village website you can discover additional information on all the city’s services. Residents are limited to 3-32 gallon cans or 6 plastic bags of yard waste or trash.
Between the months of April through September, you can drop off bulk items at the Service Garage. Construction debris is accepted but only one drop-off a month. Scrap metal is also accepted. However, construction materials from contractors will not be allowed. Latex paints can be dropped off if they are first dried out. You can use a hair blower, plaster of Paris, or kitty litter to help you dry the paint out. Alternatively, you can simply put the dried out cans in your regular trash. Leave the lid off so the waste collector can visibly see the that the paint has harden.
Rechargeable batteries can be dropped off at big box stores such as Home Depot, Lowes, and Best Buy. Fluorescent bulbs can be taken to the same stores. These items cannot be recycled in the Bay Village.
