The town does provide weekly tree lawn recycling pickup. And between the Spring and Fall months, yard waste also collected. Ensure that there are no other materials mixed in with the yard waste such as plastics, metals, or other recyclables or the city will not pick it up.

The city offers quite a few round-up days throughout the year. Some of the collections include:

  • Household hazardous waste
  •  Scrap Tire round-Up
  • Shred-It Days
  • Holiday Lights Collection
  • Computer Recycling
  • Campaign Sign Recycling
  • Recycling Leaf Pick-up

South Euclid recently became a Simple Recycling city. This a convenient way to get get rid of reusable items out of the waste stream. The town will provide each home with an orange bag. Place items such as clothing, shoes, and small appliances in these bags and put them on the curb on your recycling day. Also, because many people have stopped using phone books the town has found there is no need to have a drop-off area for these archaic books. Most retail locations throughout Cuyahoga County will accept your unwanted batteries. If you have fluorescent light bulbs, they can be taken to Home Depot or Lowes.

South Euclid will recycle most of your E-waste but not television sets. They can be dropped off at such locations as Best Buy Stores. Please take your unused or expired medication to the Cuyahoga County Sheriffs Office or the South Euclid Police Department. Don’t flush medications down the drain they can contaminate our drinking water.

If you have bulky waste and you would like to recycle these items at the curb, such as mattresses and box springs, please note how it is to be done. Wrap those items in plastic and secured with duct tape. If you are tossing out a refrigerator ensure the doors are off and lay them flat on the lawn. Construction materials must be disposed on your own the city will not pick up construction waste.
