The hauler for the city insists that all solid waste must be in green bags. They can be bought at the Kirtland City Hall or the Kirtland Community Center. This only applies to residents that have not signed up for collection.

When Fall leaf pick services begin the city would like you to remember that leaves, grass clippings and branches are not to be blown into drainage pipes or storm sewers. Apparently this a common issue in most cities. When storm drains are blocked by debris the possibility of streets flooding increases exponentially. But also, this debris can flow into Lake Erie, depriving the lake of oxygen and hurting or killing marine life. So, be careful, and protect the environment by following to be these very simple and common sense suggestions.
