The Very Pristine Lake In The Hills

Lake in the Hills is one of the suburban areas of Chicago for those of us that want access to city life and even work but do not want to live in the urban environment of traffic, noise, pollution, and crime. Lake in the Hills is such a country lifestyle that is still about an hour from the city. The best way to explain Lake in the Hills’ Ice Fishing Tournament, public skating rinks, bark parks for dogs, and bike paths. It is this kind of love of nature that defines Lake in the Hills and some surrounding areas in McHenry County.

Keeping Lake in the Hills Green and Clean

Those of us that enjoy nature in both the cold and warm weather are often rather bent on keeping the environment clean for fun and in general respect for a habitat that makes us happy. The Village has a number of programs that seek to protect the environment through its Lake in the Hills Green Alliance.  The Green Alliance is a committee that endeavors upon environmentally friendly initiatives in the community. She of these include thing like:

  • Each year the Village sponsors the Arbor Day Celebration & Tree Planting event.
  • The Village works hard to plant and keep trees that bring beauty to the community. The results are impressive and won the Village the Tree City USA designation for thirteen years.
  • The local airport has adopted energy-efficient lighting on its runways that automatically turn off when not in use.
  • The Village Hall went green with a grant of nearly six thousand dollars from the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus to replace its inefficient lighting with fluorescent hanging lights. The Village also adopts an HVAC Automation System at its Village Hall and Public Works buildings.
  • The Village offers garden plots at the Public Works facility, 9010 Haligus Road in Lake in the Hills. The plots allow people without lawn space to garden and grow on four-hundred square-foot plots or larger for a fee.
Residential Dumpster-bins in Lake in the Hills

Those of us that love this kind of pristine paradox of life love to work to keep up our homes and laws that celebrate our more relaxed living. But even cleaning a home, shed, or garage can be a daunting challenge that is easily postponed to next week that follows with months that follows with years. Go ahead and get the project done the easy way, with an affordable residential rollaway dumpster. Dumpster bins have come down in price and are easily available for residential and smaller projects. Smaller bins can make a long, arduous project an easy-breezy with time left over for the Sunday game of a relaxing evening.

What Not To Put in a Dumpster

When you are working on that big project, it may be tempting to put recycling in the dumpster. But fight that urge. Recycling is easy and you want to save space for municipal waste, which is more expensive to recycle. Also, certain items, such as hazardous waste and electronics, can never be placed in a dumpster. So where to go for these items. don’t sweat it for a minute, as follows is a list of easy locations:
